<p><b>A Chinese glass, interior painted snuff bottle of a man on a donkey in a landscape scene wrapping around the bottle, signed with a variant of Yeh Chung San and the seal: Yin, measuring 3 ins. with glass top and spoon. </b> Yeh Chung San WAs a famous snuff bottle artist who worked from 1892 -1912. His sons and followers continued to produce high quality bottles signed with his name up until the 1950s. (see Snuff Bottles of China, Hugh M. Moss. p. 53) I believe that this bottle is a later one done by his followers. It is extremely well painted and similar in concept to bottles produced by this group. A fine snuff bottle for the serious collector. |
