A finely-made, Japanese Kutani chawan, measuring approximately 4 1/2 X 3 ins., dating to the early to mid 20th century. The bowl is decorated on the outside in overglaze enamels in typical Kutani colors with three reserves, one featuring two gentlemen, the others showing landscapes. The upper and inner rims have brick red diapers with gold accents. The bowl bears a Kutani place mark in red on the base. It is exceptionally well done and in excellent condition. |
