A Japanese red over black rubbed lacquer over pottery vase, decorated with finely-executed Autumn grasses in raised, flat (takamakie and hiramakie) and sprinkled gold and silver lacquer techniques, measuring 12 1/2” tall, 4” across the base, and 8 1/2” across the top. The leaves are exquisitely done to show signs of decay. Not marked but of the Occupied Japan period (1945-52). In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, damage or losses. |
