A wonderful Japanese obi, woven of brick red/orange silk with hexagonal designs of multicolored flowers similar to Imari porcelains, dating to the early to mid 20th century. The Imari designs are highlighted with gold thread. The obi measures 14 feet in length and 12 ins. across. The entire front is decorated as is three-quarters of the reverse. You can wear this as an obi, use it as a table runner to accent your collection of Imari porcelain or find another decorative use. |
