A superb Japanese green and yellow boat-shaped dish, hand modeled by an expert potter, measuring 10 X 5 X 2 ins., dating to the Meiji Era (1868-1912). The yellow and green glaze accents the fine modeling and wave patterns scribed into the sides. An unusual ceramic piece that has characteristics of Oribe ware in the glaze. This may have seen use in the tea ceremony or in ikibana. |
