<p><b>A beautiful Japanese temmoku chawan, or summer teabowl, measuring 7 x 2 ins., dating to the last 50 years.</b> The bowl has a soft white, matte glaze that creates a hare’s fur effect on the interior ands spills over the outside. The rim carries a beautiful blue-green glaze reminiscernt of Oribe pottery. It is signed on the base by the artist. This bowl was obtained from Japan and is the work of a tea ceremony master potter. |
