A fine Japanese six-sided studio bowl with a crane design, measuring 8 ins. across by 3 ins. high, dating to the early to mid 20th century. The piece is made of an earthenware body, covered on the exterior with a dark brown/black glaze and on the interior with a crackle blue glaze and figure of a stork among the reeds in white and green overglaze enamels. It bears the artist’s seal impressed on the base.

| It is in fine and original condition, having one small chip of the blue interior glaze professionally restored. I can’t find it with magnification. |
