A Chinese Blue and White Prunus Jar measuring 8/9 ins. tall and approximately 7 ins. at the waist, dating to the late 19th century. The jar has a false, four-character, Kang Hsi Chinese reign mark on the base typical of pieces from this period. The prunus design depicts early Spring flowers breaking through the river ice. The lid and the body have surface hairline fractures that have been stabilized. All in all, a fine decorative piece. |
