Two design-matched Imari bowls, measuring 6 1/4 X 2 1/2 ins. and 4 1/4 X 1 ins. in size, dating to the early 20th century.</b> The bowls have waterfront landscape designs in underglaze blue, accented by red and gold enamels. The artist has signed the pieces with a seal in red and gold on the front. Each bowl bears a Fuku, or happiness and good luck mark in underglaze blue on the base, which is typical of this period of Imari. The larger bowl has a 1/8 in. smooth chip from the footrim that dates to their manufacture. Otherwise, the bowls are in fine and original condition.
