A fine Kutani covered porcelain baluster jar, measuring 14 ins. high and 8 ins. in diameter, dating to the 20th century, The jar has a circular band of lohans and dragons painted in multiple overglaze enamel colors with gilt accents. The cover, shoulder and base have scroll and flower designs done in the typical Kutani red. The base bears a green and black Kutani mark similar to those found on ko, or old Kutani. However, this looks like an early to mid 20th century piece. The jar is in fine and original condition.
